A balanced violinist needs to spend adequate time in four primary areas.  Broeckel Violin Studio lessons are structured to include:

1. Warmups (techniques for the bow hand and the left hand)
2. Review (previous pieces for polish and refinement)
3. Current and Preview (new repertoire)
4. Reading (sight-reading, theory and or ensemble music)

Students should spend 10-30 minutes in each area per day depending on their level.  The recommended minimum of practice per week is 180, 270 or 360 minutes.  This is based on the length of the student’s lesson 30, 45 or 60 min.  Sample practice sessions:
